Tires
Firestone®
On August 9, 2000, Bridgestone-Firestone® recalled 6.5 million tires that were separating from their casings and causing serious, often fatal, accidents. To date, at least eighty-eight deaths and hundreds of injuries were reported due to traffic accidents after the tires came apart. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recommended that owners of vehicles with certain models and sizes of Firestone® tires not already being recalled by Firestone® take a number of actions to assure their safety based on NHTSA's analysis of Firestone® data. Cooper®/Dean®
Many independent retailers sell Cooper® tires, sometimes under their own brand name. Some models of these tires have been repeatedly plagued with extremely dangerous tread separation problems that can cause tire blowout—leading to loss of control and vehicle rollover injuries. Dean® Tire is a product of the Cooper® Tire Company. To determine if a tire is made by Cooper®, check the sidewall of the tire for U9, 3D, UT or UP following “DOT.” MORE
If you or someone you know has been injured in a serious motor vehicle accident due to faulty Firestone®, Cooper® or Dean® tires, it is important that you seek out attorneys who have experience in this area. The Law Offices of Stuart A. Kritzer, P.C. has a wealth of experience representing consumers and/or their survivors against those responsible for manufacturing and distributing defective tires.
